We bought this from a neighbor who was moving – it had been in their family for generations. I had to replace one of the two 18-foot springs – a tricky job, best done with gloves on, eye protection and within a sack – and after a good cleaning, greasing and oiling, and the purchase of hundreds of new needles, the machine plays beautifully. It sounds great, and with a loud tone needle and the doors wide open, is REALLY LOUD. Sadly the cabinet top is in poor shape, and the legs have been cut-off, so its main beauty is in the ear of the beholder, rather than the eye.
